About This Blog

There are two very simple reasons that this blog exists.

The first is that I think too much. About everything. About small things. Big things. Things that mean nothing at all to someone else, or things that mean everything to everyone. And even if my thoughts seem useless and flawed to one person, there's always the chance that they'll be significant to someone else.

The second (and arguably more important) reason is that I am a writer. This has nothing to do with my profession, my future aspirations, or my field of study. It's simply a part of who I am. I communicate better through the written word than I ever could verbally.

That being said, the first thing you ought to know about writers is that we're all narcissists. While others like the sound of their own voice, we like the look, feel, taste, texture, sound, and smell of everything we've ever written-- or, at least, everything we've considered good enough to reveal to the public. Unless, of course, the thing that we've written is supposed to be our "final draft." And then we're almost never satisfied.

But I digress.

This blog is, quite frankly, exactly what it seems: a public collection of thoughts that are expanded upon by a young woman who believes that her opinions are worth putting down on paper (so to speak). Chances are, it will amount to nothing more than a highly overblown sense of accomplishment on the part of the author, and a few chuckles and momentary stretches of meaningless pondering from her intended audience.

But then, that's the point, isn't it?
